  • On February 12th, the US government announced nearly 100 million dollars in grants for 13 state housing agencies.
  • The funding will be used to provide housing for extremely low-income people with disabilities.

  • The funds are part of a new, comprehensive housing measure passed by Congress in 2010.

  • These new projects will allow thousands of people with disabilities to leave institutions and live in the community.

Review Questions:

1. How many housing units is the money expected to build?

2. What U.S. agency is providing the funding?

Freewriting “Journal” Prompt:

What about this report do you have questions about?
